More parents than ever are seeking positive, proactive ways to support their children’s emotional wellbeing and personal growth.
Mindset development through life coaching for kids is a powerful solution, equipping children with the tools they need to build confidence, resilience, and self-leadership. And that’s exactly where your kids life coaching business comes in when you get certified.
But even with your passion and purpose in place, you might be wondering, how do I connect with the parents who want this work for their children the most?
The good news? You don’t have to be pushy or salesy to grow your kids life coaching business. In fact, being real, helpful, and heart-centered is exactly what draws the right families to you.
Here are six proven ways to connect with parents and help them see the power of what you do:
1. Lead with Stories That Inspire
Parents don’t always need a long list of credentials. What they really want to know is: “Can you help my child?”
One of the best ways to show that you can help is by sharing real success stories (change the child’s name, of course) — stories of children who learned to believe in themselves, bounce back from disappointment, or stand tall in the face of fear. Share with them how shy Sophia found her voice, how anxious Alex discovered courage, or how once-withdrawn Jacob now walks taller because of the mindset skills you helped them develop.
Whether it’s a social media post, email message, or a quick video, sharing these moments helps parents see what’s possible for their own children.
Tip: The success stories you share don’t have to be just your own, especially if you’re just starting out and may not have very many. You can share success stories from other WISDOM Coaches because you are certified and using the same proven curriculum they use. These success stories are frequently posted on the Adventures in Wisdom social media accounts. Simply share a success story and say, “I help kids this way too using the same curriculum and coaching methodology this coach used…”
2. Create Content That Speaks to Their Struggles
Use your content – whether it’s a social post, blog article, or video – to reflect what parents are already thinking. “Is my child falling behind emotionally?” “I don’t know how to help my anxious daughter.” “My son seems so unmotivated lately.”
Speak into those worries with compassion, and then gently offer a solution: mindset coaching that helps children grow from the inside out.
Phrases like “help your child develop confidence and resilience” or “give your child the tools to thrive” connect with parents on a deeper level than just saying “life coaching for kids.”
Tip: Nurturing leads by sending valuable content is an important part of building trust and converting prospects to clients. Adventures in Wisdom gives WISDOM Coaches numerous articles and other content to share with parents so that they understand the impact coaching can have on their child. Coaches can also share AIW social posts, case studies, videos, and so much more. Most of the Adventures in Wisdom posts are designed to help parents see how powerful life coaching is for children.
3. Educate, Don’t Advertise
Many parents still don’t know what a life coach for kids actually does, and that’s okay.
Position yourself as an educator by sharing tips on topics they care about — like boosting self-esteem, handling peer pressure, or managing screen time with confidence.
The more value you provide up front, the more trust you build. And trust works as the bridge to a coaching relationship.
Tip: Answer key questions that parents might have such as how coaching differs from counseling, how you involve the parent in the process, how coaching can help a child become more self-responsible at home. Share a quick tip using one of our stories, like the Self-talk story, and invite parents to try the strategy with their kids at home.
4. Leverage your Personal Network
Life coaching for kids is a “know, like, and trust” business because the parents who hire you either want to know, like, and trust you, or they want to know, like, and trust someone who knows, likes, and trusts you.
For that reason, Adventures in Wisdom provides training and templates on how to reach out to your personal network to share what you are doing, and how to ask your network to share with THEIR network too.
And the best thing is that leveraging your personal network doesn’t cost anything but a little time.
Tip: Even if you don’t have friends or family who have school-aged children, they will know someone who does. Be sure to include your neighborhood Facebook or Next Door Groups, gym friends, church groups, etc. when leveraging your personal network.
5. Show Your Credentials—and Your Heart
When it comes to their children, parents want to know they’re in safe, experienced hands. Display your WISDOM Coach® certification proudly. But just as importantly, let your passion shine. Share why you do this work. Your “why” helps parents connect with you emotionally, not just professionally.
Tip: Share your “I was called to this work because…” story on your website or Instagram bio. Authenticity builds connection.
6. Make Offers that Answer Parents’ Needs throughout the Year
Parents seek solutions when they’re facing a challenge.
Back-to-school nerves kicking in? Offer a Back-to-School Coaching package.
Start of a new year? Offer a Vision Board and Goal Setting workshop.
Sports or dance tryouts looming? Offer a Confidence Coaching package.
Halloween approaching? Teach kids how to Move Through Fear and Create Courage.
Tip: Adventures in Wisdom provides Coaching Package Templates for WISDOM Coaches that address key areas parents are often seeking support for, such as building soaring self-esteem, creating confidence, managing peer pressure, building resilience, becoming self-leaders, achieve goals, and Back-to-School packages for elementary school, middle school, and high school!
