“Do you cry because roses have thorns or celebrate because thorns have roses?”
I came across this quote in a book I read and wanted to share it with you. Although there have been similar quotes, I love the simplicity of this one. It is a great reminder that how we choose to look at anything in our life impacts how we experience our lives.
This is true for our kids as well. Kids often feel like the world is doing things “to” them. When they discover that they can choose how they experience the events in their lives – magic can happen. Sometimes just sharing a simple quote like this one helps our kids remember that they have a choice in how they look at things – they can wear their “power goggles”.
Enjoy looking for the roses.
P.S. The book was “In My Mother’s Voice” by Karen Reg’ena
